Code for Core started its operation informally after the devastating earthquake of April 2015. We started the company after the devastating earthquake that Nepal suffered in April 2015. It was founded by three friends; Rajkumar Pudasaini, Anjan Acharya and Pramod Pokharel.
During the earthquake, we tried to organize a team who could locate open and safe spaces around the community. Unfortunately, it was difficult to find open spaces in the locality. People were sleeping on the streets, school grounds and paddy fields due to the lack of open spaces. This triggered a realization in us about the importance of proper urbanization and maps for community, developed by their own communities. We informally conducted several campaigns to make local maps. During our college days we had the opportunity to learn about open streets mapping for Ward Number 7, Kathmandu with Kathmandu Living Labs Pvt.Ltd.
After almost two years of voluntary works with Geographical Information System (GIS) experts, software engineers, web designers, urban planners along with social entrepreneurs we finally built up confidence and decided to register Code For Core Innovation Pvt. Ltd. to give an organizational shape for the work we were doing at community level. We registered it at the Office of the Company Registrars on November 2017.
Till date, our team expanded from 3 to 11 members. In late 2017 Raj Shah, a social entrepreneur and self-made businessman joined hands with us. Subash, Sabin, —- and —- are our inseparable team members who have sacrificed their time and effort and believed in our dreams to change the community we envisioned. The passion towards our work by our team has encouraged us to think twice to make our dreams a reality.
Code For Core Innovation (C4C) envisions itself as a private organization with public purpose. Currently we have 11 active members in our team.
